Fueling Canopies by Frey-Moss Structures
The fueling canopy is the most visible part of any fueling center. A large, well-built and well-maintained canopy is one essential element of an attractive outlet and establishes a good impression in customers’ minds, increasing street appeal and leading ultimately to higher revenues.
Frey-Moss canopy designs meet the requirements of all major fuel marketers (see our current Client List). Additionally, Frey-Moss offers distinct advantages emerging from abundant experience and attention to detail. These features lead to lower cost of ownership through initial purchase price and reduced maintenance expense in the future. They include:
- Pre-Fabricated Steel Components: Designed and manufactured into kit form to minimize site erection time and maximize quality. No “cut-to-fit” at your site.
- Work Safe Erection Crew: All Frey-Moss canopy erectors are trained in the use of modern personal protective equipment and execute safe work methods on your site.
- Seamless Aluminum Gutters: Single gutter sections span from column to column or end to end of the canopy deck. Aluminum is a superior product for this application; it is lightweight, corrosion-resistant and durable. It will never need painting and will not form ugly rust stains on underside.
- No Exposed Fasteners: Hidden fasteners on fascia, decking, gutters and soffit sections will enhance the appearance of the canopy and significantly reduce potential rust stains and leaks.
- Prices: Working with the cost-reduction initiatives of major petroleum marketers has created many opportunities for Frey-Moss to reduce our own production cost. We offer a highly competitive package of high quality, quick and safe installation and reasonable prices.

Hypermarket Development by Frey-Moss Structures
The Challenge
Building a network of sites on the hypermarket model represents a significant undertaking for most companies. The typical marketer will find himself facing significant schedule, quality and inspection issues as he attempts to build a large network quickly.
The Key for Success
Frey-Moss can greatly reduce the burden associated with these efforts through our use of modular construction techniques. In the space of two days, Frey-Moss can deliver the building or kiosk and erect a modular canopy. This alone will drastically shorten construction time and increase quality without the need for the owner’s representative to visit the site daily.
Frey-Moss coordination will also greatly simplify the management of these projects during construction and the use of Frey-Moss modular kiosks and small stores on these sites offers significant cost benefits and schedule advantages when compared to traditional construction methods. Our system enables the marketer to reliably complete typical projects in six weeks or less.
The Experience
Frey-Moss specializes in hypermarket fueling, having designed and built the first Wal-Mart gas site with Murphy Oil in 1996. Since then we have gone on to complete over 300 gas sites for Murphy Oil at Wal-Mart locations. Frey-Moss also serves as the exclusive supplier for the Tesoro Mirastar program, their joint venture with Wal-Mart in the western United States. In February 2001, we delivered our first two K-Mart projects in Memphis, Tennessee and went on to complete another dozen that same year. We are the preferred modular building supplier for Sunoco’s Optima program, their foray into hypermarket fueling, also in conjunction with Wal-Mart, and have completed thirty-one projects as of 2002. Altogether, Frey-Moss has delivered well over 500 hypermarket fueling centers for these customers along with Albertson’s, Costco and Safeway.

Modular Car Washes
New Product
Car Wash buildings are now available in a modular, assembled unit complete with all equipment, installed in our plant as an option.
Frey-Moss Innovation
Frey-Moss designed, produced and tested the prototype design in 2000. Recent incorporated refinements have reduced the cost and enabled a complete installation in factory of both the wash bay machinery and the support components located in the adjacent equipment room.
Attractive design incorporates standard 7’ high full glass on front, and a choice of modern glossy metallic exterior, EIFS stucco, traditional brick in numerous colors, or split face block on remaining exterior. Available finishes and colors include all major brand images.Fast Development
Very short construction time for the entire project makes the modular car wash an accessible option for a new wash building at an operating site. Installation of the car wash building on your site will consume just a single day. Preparation of the site, installation of foundations, drive aprons and utility connections will be completed by a general contractor under separate contract.
A fully-functioning car wash in less than thirty days is readily achievable.
Move the entire car wash with ease
Because the wash building and equipment room are completely modular, they are re-locatable. A re-locatable building offers some very important advantages to the owner when compared to conventional construction:
- A short ground lease no longer stands as an impediment to investments of this type. Make the investment, increase revenue and profit and take the building with you at the end of the lease if necessary.
- Preserve your capital and lease the entire building and equipment package.
- Easily move the building to another site if desired.
- Accelerated Depreciation as re-locatable piece of equipment
Modular Restaurants:
From small retail drive thru operations to full service food offerings, our modular restaurants provide the right choice when it comes to developing your location.
- Instant speed to market, reduce construction time by 50% or more
- Buildings are shipped complete with your equipment package installed
- Buildings are factory-built utilizing all steel and concrete construction
- Complete with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Designed to meet state and local codes
- Unlimited exterior finishes to meet any image requirement
Modular Lube Bays
The Past
Frey-Moss has constructed over one hundred quick lube centers for major marketers and independent operators since 1995. The Frey-Moss modular quick lube has proven to be highly cost competitive versus standard techniques with the additional revenue benefit of slicing a month off the typical construction schedule.
From the Inside to the Outside
The Frey-Moss advantage in quick lubes begins with our experience in steel design and construction. Floors are heavily reinforced with structural members, steel decking and columns located at the catwalks, leaving much of the basement floor free for tanks and storage of other materials.
Made of incredibly durable sheet metal material, interior walls will never need painting and stand up to wear by the customers and the tools of the trade.
Frey-Moss offers exterior finishes in a range of optional textures and colors and includes glossy metallic finish, EIFS stucco, split face block, and traditional brick.
The Complete Installation
Like all Frey-Moss modular buildings, the lube center arrives complete with all components including:
